Begin your intellectual life at UMBC with an Academic Transition Program. These unique opportunities include a blend of seminar style classes, residential experiences, and/or co-curricular opportunities that are meant to prepare you for the expectations of a research university while also supporting you in the transition to our community. These opportunities are all about YOU and YOUR success. Plan to explore all of the possibilities with your academic advisor during orientation this summer. We look forward to meeting you.

Before You Begin Your UMBC Experience:

At Orientation:

~ Consider registering for a First Year Seminar (FYS) or Introduction to an Honors University (IHU) Seminar. Talk to your advisor about which option is best for you.
