  • Fall 2023 Change Makers Dinner (Environmental Justice): Change Makers Dinners connect UMBC students, faculty, and staff members with local leaders and each other over a free meal. The Fall 2023 Change Makers Dinner, with a focus on environmental justice, will take place on Tuesday, October 24 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Read more and RSVP here.
     
  • STRiVE 2024: STRiVE is the Center for Democracy and Civic Life's annual, immersive leadership for public purpose program for undergraduate students. Participants will make new friends, discover their strengths and values, learn how to work more effectively in groups, envision contributions they could make at UMBC, and tackle both simulated and real leadership and social change challenges. STRiVE 2024 will take place from Monday, January 8 - Friday, January 12, 2024. Read more and apply here by November 6, 2023.
     
  • Alternative Spring Break (ASB) 2024: Undergraduate and graduate students participating  in the Center for Democracy and Civic Life's Alternative Spring Break program will explore the systemic and human dimensions of complex social issues in Baltimore. Participants will build connections with local leaders, organizations, and policy makers and develop a sophisticated understanding of available resources and challenges. ASB 2024 will take place from Monday, March 18 - Friday, March 22, 2024. Read more and apply here by November 20, 2023.
