Library Vibes

What does the AOK Library Have to Offer?

Written by Jenika Brown, OAPA Peer Advisor

Time to prep for exams and finish up that harder-than-you-expected assignment.
You need comfy seating, yummy food, caffeine, peace and quiet...and maybe a beautiful view.
Look no further than The Albin O. Kuhn Library

First, brain fuel
Whether it be a painstakingly early morning or a super late night, energy is a must! Thank goodness for Einstein’s! You can grab a coffee, quick bite or whatever you fancy—they’re located in the main atrium.

The book you need isn’t here…
Lucky for you the AOK is connected to a network of other university libraries. This means librarians can request materials from another library and have them sent to you…free of charge!

Who says libraries are only for borrowing books?
Let’s face it, we’re in the digital age so it’s no surprise that your professors may require you to bring a laptop to class from time to time. Whether you don’t own a laptop; forgot to bring yours; or your battery died and you forgot your charger, stop by the circulation desk if you need a laptop-they loan those out too!

Need help in a class? Get assistance from the ultimate study partner, a tutor!
You’re never truly alone at AOK. If you’re struggling in Math or Science course, stop by the Math and Science Tutoring Center and take it from an English major who knows the power of an extra set of eyes on a paper and stop by the Writing Center!—both located on the first floor.

Find a study space that best suites you. Certain assignments require certain study spaces…at least for me. There are times where I need to study with a group or be completely alone. Lucky for me I have options.
  • The AOK has individual and group study rooms you can reserve. Or you can snag an open study room on the first-come, first-serve basis
  • The Retriever Learning Center (RLC)—located on the main floor—is open 24/7 so you can get the job done...no matter what time it is
*FYI: Library hours are extended during finals week, so make sure you check the library’s site, under Library Hours
