Orientation
Once you are admitted to UMBC, you will receive instructions regarding how to register for orientation. If you plan to participate in Dawg Days: Jumpstart Summer Bridge, it is REQUIRED that you attend orientation during the month of June prior to the start of the program in early July.
Students considering Dawg Days: Bridge are strongly encouraged to attend orientation in June (dates to be determined).
To learn more about registering for orientation, please visit the Undergraduate Orientation website. If these dates are not available, please contact us as we may be able to register you for one of these dates.
Placement Testing
It is also imperative that you complete the online placement test. We recommend that you prepare for the test and take it seriously as the results will be used to place you in the appropriate Math course.
You MUST complete the placement test prior to attending orientation and prior to the start of the program as these test will determine if students place into
- MATH104
- MATH106
- MATH120
- MATH150
- MATH155
- STAT121
- or MATH151
which are offered as part of the program. These tests will also help you make the best choices in planning your schedule, not only for Dawg Days: Bridge, but for the fall semester.
You will register for fall courses when you attend Orientation, which as stated earlier, must take place during the month of June. Full details on placement testing are provided on the Academic Success Center’s placement testing website. If you need special testing accommodations because of a disability, please contact The Office of Student Disability Services at 410-455-2459 or email at disability@umbc.edu as soon as possible.
